Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble - The Original Witches Brew
Fun Fact: Did you know women brewed the first beer? In honor of Women’s History month, we’re sharing the fascinating history of women and beer. During the Middle Ages and Renaissance, women would commonly make and sell beer, wearing pointy hats so they could be seen in the marketplace. They transported their brew in cauldrons and kept cats to keep mice away from the grain. Women dominated the beginning of the brew industry, until the religious Inquisition movement began and female brewers were hunted for being witches. Not long after, making beer as a woman was deemed illegal and immoral. As a result, men still dominate the brewing industry, but we can thank the women of the past for our brews.
